Who is the Alpha: The Chicken or the Egg?

My first reaction is that the egg is the indisputable alpha. The egg literally uses the chicken as a means to create another egg.

The eggs are so smug. Chickens don’t need to produce more eggs. They could win this battle simply by abstaining from sex. But they’re not able to resist the temptation. They can’t abstain and the eggs damn well know it. The eggs just sit back and watch as chickens continue to fuck and perpetuate the egg’s existence.

However, after spending a couple years really thinking about this, I’ve become less convinced that the eggs are truly the alpha. Maybe the chickens aren’t simply failing to resist some cultivating chicken coitus. Maybe the chickens nobly concede the battle with the egg in order to perpetuate their own species and give further generations of chickens a chance at life. But chickens have an extremely poor quality of life. So is it an act of nobility, or an act of cruelty? At what point does the quality of life become so poor that chicken’s decide there’s more value in winning the Alpha battle with the eggs than perpetuating their species? What kind of political system do chickens have in place to make these decisions? Could it be possible that PETA is actually a bunch of chickens disguising themselves as humans in a last-ditch effort to improve their quality of life?

Fuck. There’s a lot going on here…

P.S. I’m aware people usually argue about what came first: the chicken or the egg. This is the dumbest argument I’ve ever heard. Eggs can’t even cum.
